Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the Museum and Park.

All our media screens situated within the galleries have sound.

Noise Levels

The Museum can get busy, particularly on a weekend or during the school holidays. We suggest that if you would prefer to at a quieter time, weekdays when we first open or after 3pm are typically the best time to visit.

For visitors with sensory processing needs

Sensory backpacks

We have a range of sensory backpacks that are available for varying ages.  these can be collected on arrival and handed in at the end of your visit.  The backpacks contain a range of sensory items as well as ear defenders to support your trip to Clifton Park Museum.

Visual timetables

We have three visual timetable packs available in the library gallery. The visual timetables are used to help individuals understand what they can expect during their visit and may be particularly useful to visitors with Autism or sensory processing needs. This can help the users feel calmer and in control when visiting the museum.

Signage is given in written and pictorial symbols and there are information sheets which can be taken around the museum, to be found at and returned to the reception desk.
